Paul Stevenson, Business Development Manager with OptaSense Inc, the leading fiber optic based pipeline leak and third-party intrusion detection solution provider, along with Tony McMurtrey of Midstream Integrity Services, EPIC’s operations agent for their pipeline, are please to introduce the members and guests of the San Antonio Pipeliners Association to Fiber Optic Pipeline Leak and Intrusion Detection solutions.

Paul has over 30 Years’ experience in the oil and gas industry both on and offshore, upstream, midstream and downstream.

Throughout his career Paul has been extensively involved with asset integrity management.

Paul’s past experience has been with integrity management and regulatory compliance with Noble Denton, KBR and Lloyd’s register. 

In 1984 Paul studied Electrical & Electronic Engineering at University of the West of Scotland, and much later in 2007 received a 3 year Professorship in applied structural dynamics from Harbin Engineering University.

Mr. Stevenson will present an overview on the Optical Pipeline Leak and Intrusion Detection technology, showing some examples relating to the midstream industry, whilst Tony will present an operators perspective focusing on the Fiber Optic System already in use on the Epic pipeline project.
